Her comments went beyond surface polish. She caught structural problems I'd stopped being able to see, from a POV introduction that landed too abruptly to a whole arc that needed its pacing rebalanced, and she explained why each one mattered rather than just flagging it [...] She was equally sharp at line level. Continuity slips, register breaks, phrases I'd leaned on too often. Nothing got past her, and nothing she raised felt like a matter of taste dressed up as a rule.
